On Wednesday, April 14th at 7 pm, Theatre Seven christens our monthly Shikaakwa reading series at our new home, the Greenhouse Theater Center, with a reading and discussion of Look, We Are Breathing, by 2008 Wasserstein Prize winning playwright Laura Jacqmin, directed by Megan Schuchman. Laura's play concerns three women; a mother, a teacher and a quasi-girlfriend, grappling with the loss of 17-year old Mike, a likable kid who was, at times, every mother's, teacher's and girlfriend's nightmare. $5 donation.
Theatre Seven of Chicago concludes its fourth season with the comedy Hunting & Gathering. Bess is a hunter, a straightforward college student who tells the world exactly what she wants and usually gets it. Ruth is a gatherer, a frustrated romantic who's lived in thirty apartments in fifteen years, and still hasn't found "the one". A chance meeting between strangers leaves Ruth wondering: does a woman have to be a predator to survive? Theatre Seven presents the Chicago Premiere of Brooke Berman's lightning-quick comedy about the meaning of home and the endless quest for a perfect apartment.
