Headshot Submission & Audition Guidelines

We are now accepting submissions for Unwilling and Hostile Instruments: 100 Years of Extraordinary Chicago Women, directed by Elly Green. The show is comprised of eight short pieces, from eight different playwrights, about notable Chicago ladies of the past century to mark the 100th anniversary of suffrage in Illinois. We are casting actors who are comfortable with direct address, playing multiple characters, gender bending and ensemble work. We are encouraging submissions from all actors, but most expressly non-white women of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. Rehearsals start on Monday, August 5th, weeknights and weekends. Performances begin on Monday, September 30th and run 4-5 times per weekend through Sunday, October 27th.
Audition Dates:
July 7: 12pm – 4:30pm
July 9: 11am – 2pm
July 13: 2pm – 5pm
July 14: 12pm – 4:30pm
If interested, please email Kelly Parker at Each actor will be assigned to a specific 45 minute time slot. Please specify blocks of time during which you are available for these dates and times. Once your time slot has been confirmed, you will be contacted directly and given sides to prepare. In addition, we will ask that you be prepared to talk for 30 seconds about a woman from Chicago you admire.
Thank you and we look forward to your response!

We welcome your submission. Please follow the above instructions explicitly or your submission will not be considered.
